- Our captains are held to the highest professional standards through rigorous United States Coast Guard (USCG) certification processes. Each captain undergoes extensive training and must:
- Pass comprehensive maritime knowledge examinations
- Demonstrate advanced navigational skills
- Complete mandatory first aid and CPR certification
- Maintain current medical certificates
- Undergo regular skills assessments and continuing education
- All of our captains are American Sailing Association instructors so they are well versed in safety measure and educate others on them, on a regular basis

- Maintaining open communication with the captain at all times
- Listening carefully to all safety briefings and instructions
- Stay hydrated while on board and let your captain know if you don’t feel well
- Using good judgment and reporting any concerns immediately
- Wearing provided safety equipment as instructed
